It appears as though most comments on this site are from people who have done the blessing. I would like to change that and share how one of you blessed me this evening. In September of this year I was quickly thrown on a loop when my husband tried to choke me and threw me across the room. My life as a family quickly changed and I took on the role of single mom. As the Christmas holiday has come upon us it has been a challenge. I do not get any support at all from my daughters father and I was determined that his lack of motiviation for that was not going to effect my daughter. I have worked as much as possible and done my best to provide what we need. We are always reminded that God provides for our needs and are thankful as we daily see how his provisions come in ways that amaze us. This evening I was loaf n jug at the Johnstown exit to meet my ex and get my daughter back from him. As I sat waiting for them I was calculating in my head how I could manage the money I have to be able to fill my gas tank and continue to provide. When I pulled up to the pump I watched as woman got out of her car and walked towards me. She handed me $20 and a little card with 2 Thessalonians 3:16 on it. I will be honest and say that I do not remember everything that was said. I remember the hug and how I cried just remembering how God had once again provided in ways I could not imagine. You truly blessed my daughter and I this evening. Thank you for allowing God to use you as his tool!!!! I pray that God will bless each one of you and the people who are touched by your kindness.

I had the opportunity to babysit for a single mom the week of Christmas.
She had not been attending church very regularly, but when a medical emergency came up, she called LifeBridge looking for help. She was given my name as someone who would be willing to help in any way necessary, she called and asked if I could stay with her children while she went to get some tests done at the hospital.
I ended up spending most of the afternoon watching movies with her kids. She was most appreciative when she returned saying that if there was ever anything she could do for me, she would be happy to.
What a blessing to see needs being met and being able to share the love of Christ with those less fortunate.

A last minute donation was made today to help a single mom in need. This company has employees that make a donation then the company matches funds. They had already helped several single moms, but felt they could help "one more." They blessed a single mom with two teenage sons who had recently lost her job and was having financial problems. Despite the problems, she had blessed another mom and family the day before when her small group failed to get gifts. Prayers that she would be blessed had a 24 hour turn around response!

Quilts of Kindness volunteers went to two different small group homes (Millbrook Homes) for the elderly & delivered handmade lap quilts to the residents there on Wednesday, December 16th. These homes are located in subdivisions and are literally homes, located in residential neighborhoods around Longmont. Each resident has their own room, with 24 hour nursing care. They were all ladies and were so excited that we chose them! The nursing staff at both homes knew as soon as they saw the different quilts just who would choose which colors. One of the ladies we gave a quilt to showed us the memory quilt she had on her bed, with pictures of her family and friends printed on the quilt. She was excited to share the history of the quilt with us.

Good morning – in case you didn’t see the papers, Kindness for Kids was a success!

We handed out over 2,700 toys plus little extra goodies like knitted hats, gloves, stuffed animals and Crocs. No one was turned away!

We had wonderful volunteers and our coordinators were awesome.

Thanks to all of you who donated or helped with this project – we appreciate all you do for our community and for the Kingdom of God.

Merry Christmas

Hello – just wanted to update on the other Christmas of Kindness Projects that have taken place:

OUR Center coat drive - 296 households served and 729 coats distributed... and no family left without a coat---that's a first----and we still had children’s' coats at the end of the morning!

Mother House Dinner- the group provided a nice dinner and craft for the girls. They all had a great time.

Mountain States Children’s Home Party- There were 20 children and they all received special gifts from out volunteers. Some items on the children’s wish list was gum and batteries. So needless to say our volunteers went beyond that in their giving.

Thanks – Merry Christmas.

It’s going great. There are 4 couples in our small group. One couple has bought for Kaylee, the other for Blake, one is doing dinner and decorations and Bob and I are buying for Tanya. I have talked to her several times on the phone and she is very nice. We also took a collection and gave her $150 check to catch her up on her electric bill and I think we’d like to commit to perhaps $25 per month per couple to see her through the winter’s bills. And one of the couples is going to watch her children on Monday evening so she can come over to our house and wrap the presents. That way it will be a surprise for the kids. And also one of my co-workers brought over a girl’s bike that her daughter outgrew so we’ll be able to give that to them as well. Thanks for assisting us with this project. We are really enjoying being a part of Tanya’s Christmas celebration and being able to share our faith and express our gratefulness for what we have received.

My husband and I have been blessed to not only adopt a single mom and her family, but more importantly get to know them personally.

On our first "date" we took them to Gateway Park for an afternoon of miniature golf and video games, then off to Dairy Queen for a hot dog and ice cream. It was a wonderful way to get aquainted.

The following week she called and asked us to meet them for dinner at Red Robin, she tried to pay for the meal, but we insisted on treating. She then invited us over to her house to meet her mother and see her home. What a blessing that was. While we were there my husband hooked up her newly donated washer and dryer. We also removed some of her cupboard doors so that we could take them home and refinish them for her.

We were able to bless her, her child and her mother with several Christmas gifts. When asked if we could leave them unwrapped so they could go under the tree from "Santa", she replied NO, but they will be from BABY JESUS!

We look forward to getting to know them better in the months to come as we have begun a wonderful new friendship! God is so good the way he blesses us abundantly when we give away the gifts that He has loaned us in this life.

Praise the Lord for opportunities!!
